Hello, How are you? I am back with another Android tutorial. In this tutorial, we are going to learn aboutAndroid material design collapsing toolbar layout. The tutorial is in very simple language and step by step process to create a collapsing toolbar layout in Android.

Creating New Project

To create a new Android application project, follow the steps given below.

  • Open Android Studio
  • Go to File menu
  • Click on New
  • Click on New Project
  • Enter Project name: CollapsingToolbarDemo (in my case it is CollapsingToolbarDemo)
  • Package: com.faqdroid.collapsingtoolbardemo (in my case it is com.faqdroid.collapsingtoolbardemo)
  • Select Phone or Tablet
  • Select Empty Activity
  • Name the Activity – MainActivity
  • Keep other default selections
  • Continue to click on next button until Finish button is active, then click on Finish Button.

Now project created !!

Now Start Coding

 

build.grade file

Before doing anything,

let us,

Add the following lines to the dependencies section in your project’s build.grade file and sync .
It include design support library ,cardview library and palette library .

file : build.gradle

styles.xml

Now we are going to add the following styles to our res>values>styles.xml file:

strings.xml

Now we are going to add the following code to our res>values>strings.xml file:

color.xml

Now we are going to add the following code to our res>values>color.xml file.

activity_main.xml

Now Create XML layout file in res/layout and name it activity_main.xml .

card_layout.xml

Now Create another XML layout file in res/layout and name it card_layout.xml.

MainActivity.java

Now Open the MainActivity.java and write the following code.

So now we have done with the collapsing toolbar tutorial.
